My experience has been good with the company so far but there needs to be more talk about what they are doing for social injustice .
Decent workplace. Dealing with unruly customers is really the biggest issue. But overall the workplace was nice and coworkers were very nice and welcoming.
I have worked under different branches of Luxottica for a little over 3 years and I love being around eyewear and helping customers choose and change their styles with their new frames. However, the corporate side is not always so fun. I have watched many disputes over pay, promotions, micromanaging from district and regional managers, and when the higher-ups roll out a stupid plan that the people who sit in their offices think would be a good idea, without asking the people who actually work with the customers every day for input. I love my job but the pay is barely above minimum wage and the annual pay increases are laughable. This company used to take care of their employees but now they seem to care more about their CEO's than anything. the quality of the products is declining as fast as the quality of work. But you get a free eye exam and pair of glasses every year, which is the main reason many people stay on the payroll but only work 2 or 3 times a month.
I love working for sunglass hut! Its a fun environment with piazza. Its fast pased which makes the time go by so fast. Worth it for that and the perks :)
They don’t really care about their employees and are more concerned about the profits that they make.
Luxottica is driven by a change culture, and looks for new ideas and out-of-the box thinking. If you don't like change, Luxottica is not the place for you!
My experience is with sunglasses but, the discounts are great! I am a casual part time sales associate. For a student this is a great job because of the flexibility of hours (4-7 hour shifts). The pay isn’t great as you only get 1 to 2 percent commission of your personal sales and ONLY if the store makes the weekly goal. This is my only complaint about the company. I had great luck with great managers which is what sets the vibe for the store.
The turn over time in this company is unacceptable. The 8 months that I have worked for this company there are only 3 people in the store that were there when I started (not including the doctor) . The schedule is either 1 week prior or 2 months prior on and off. All of the hours given change constantly for even the full time employees. There is constantly employees who says "well that's not my job" when being asked to help in any way. As a full time student my schedule is set in for months but they still try to schedule me for times during class. I plan on quitting soon because of how unorganized and stressful this job is in general. Its not something that $13/hr would suggest. I would say maybe pay $15 at LEAST to new hires with all the responsibility that is expected. There needs to be CLEAR rules on how to run a store. In the military we went by articles published for the whole company that everyone followed so we could work better as a team.
The rate of pay is ridiculous in comparison to how much money you make for the company. Nepotism and subtle hints of racism are there for all to see. The best part of the experience would be amazing co-workers.
I work for Sunglasshut which is owned by Luxottica. For this being my first job I absolutely love it. I been with this company for almost 3 years. It is an excellent job for a college student.
A company that dominates the optical industry. They don't care about their employees, when they feel like it's time to let you go they will.
Luxottica is a family oriented company. I bond With my colleagues and grow with them within the company. While working with people that I have became like family, I am able to help people in the eye water industry. Everyday I am Able to help businesses help their consumers to see by purchasing frames. I love helping people.
My experience has been great. I've had many chances to develop my workplace skills in communication. The managers are encouraging and setting us up for success. I enjoyed my time so far in this company.
Positive work environment. Management is very encouraging, which motivates the employees to make the sales goal. Sales goals met are rewarded with commission. Hours are flexible, so taking days off is easy. More hours can be obtained by working at different locations. A free pair of glasses is rewarded every year of working at The Sunglass Hut.
This company likes to promote from within but they do not give their management team enough training in management. Many managers will actually schedule you outside your availability and write you up when you can`t work. The employees are over worked and under paid. They are over saturating the market with new stores and still pressure every team to make incredibly high sales goals. I would never recommend applying for a job with this company.
I currently still work at the company, I really enjoy the environment and they pay is very good. There are a lot of responsibilities but if you are quick and a fast learner you should be fine
I Have been working with this company for the past year and I love it. great team. good hours and nice work environment.
