I loved working here at first and so did all of my coworkers! I started as cashier but quickly moved up to head cashier. I loved coming into work but it changed after about three or four months working there. I started to see the management favoritism and how little they care about their employees. They pay pretty will and work well with your schedule, but I left most days angry at how little help we got from management. They expected us to do our jobs and carry a lot of their responsibility as well. If you are looking for a job that pays well that you are willing to deal with poor management, this job is pretty decent but if you are looking to be happy in your work, this is not the place. I worked there for about 9 months and I’m glad I got the experience but it is not an ideal place to work at all.
I have worked at Lowe's part-time for 2 years now as a full-time college student. The first thing that I want to tell college students who are looking for a part-time job with great benefits, THIS IS THE ONE! Lowe's offers tuition reimbursement up to $2,500 every year (up to 5 years, only on tuition (not including fees), books, and required software/programs). Despite the conditions, I have been able to receive this amazing reimbursement check twice already. This is by far the best part-time job that I've had with such amazing support for college students. At the store where I work, my supervisor is very flexible with my school schedule and works me within my availability regularly. I also feel as though I have been paid a fair hourly wage, considering I am only a part-time employee. Lastly, our store has performed so well that we have all been able to receive bonuses each year. Now other than benefits, the work is decent but we are rather busy since the pandemic began in March.
Lowe’s Home improvement was my first job and one of my best jobs I’ve had. They are extremely flexible with your work schedule, especially if you’re in college or have a second job. I’ve moved around in Lowe’s a lot, because I love to learn. I bounced around to different departments just to learn and for experience. I worked in outside garden, flooring, and even lumber. It does get busy and challenging at times but it does bring the best out of you. The company has changed a lot since I’ve been their, but I would still recommend the company!
