First location five stars across the board! Everyone was sympathetic, helpful, worked together - the store owner was overzealous in what he expected but still easily the best experience I've had. I'm still friends with all of them and enjoyed the work: it was stable, satisfying, and I always felt safe and looked after. Second location; one star total. Everyone was distant or rude, I was constantly yelled at (while training, especially) and it was not stable whatsoever. Every person I met said they were scheduled on days they specifically weren't available for full-day+ shifts (as was I). Management is incompetent - ironic since they had almost triple what the first location did in numbers (of managers, etc. Less than half in employees). I submitted my transfer information three times (a month before the transfer, the day of, and 1.5 months after) and it still took three months to accept me over. I didn't have access to any of my necessary tools for the job during that time.
The teamwork at Lowes was one of the best aspects of the job. My coworkers made me feel welcome right away, and I could immediately detect a feeling of teamwork. To maintain the store's efficient functioning and deliver top-notch customer service, we worked flawlessly together. This teamwork not only made the workplace pleasurable but also created a setting where I felt comfortable asking questions and picking the brains of my more seasoned coworkers.There were a few areas, though, where I think there's space for development. First, there were times when the staffing numbers were insufficient, which resulted in a heavier workload during peak times. Adding more personnel at busy times could help reduce stress and guarantee consistently high levels of customer service. But overall my experience at Lowes has been fulfilling.
I've worked at Lowe's in my universities town for over a year now and intend on staying employed here through the rest of my duration of school. My managers are super supportive of me being in school and are so kind and work around my school schedule while still allowing me the hours I need. Pay is really decent, and there are quarterly bonuses and biannual raises. Plus a lot of benefits including holiday and vacation even for part time. One I have really benefited from as a student is their tuition reimbursement program through Guild. They aren't entirely clear that your ninety days of eligibility has to be prior to the start date of the semester you apply for, but they refund up to $2,500/year for books, class fees, tuition, etc. All essential class material and fees directly correlated with classes. I did receive the full $2,500 last year and it helped me out extraordinarily. I would really recommend working here as a student, or really in general.
