Kohl's Reviews

Kohls was a decent place to work. Most of the managers were friendly, and the coworkers. However, the customers were sometimes jerks and stole things and you could not do anything about it, which was really frustrating. Plus, the pay is only $10 per hour, and the pay raise I received was only 10 cents after working there for a year (which is a rip off). The only positive was that there was a $250 bonus during Christmas and $35 discounts on everything for being an associate. When the payroll was low, they would only give me 4 hours a week to work which was not enough, and forced me to get another job with a higher pay and more stable schedule. Finally, there was very little diversity. Only 3 people in the store were different races, while the rest were Caucasion. So much for diversity/inclusion!
Working at Kohl's is a great opportunity to learn how to do many tasks, work with many different people, work with customers and learn how to be eco-friendly! I love how diverse Kohl's is and how I get to meet and work with so many different people. The management at Kohl's is great, they are friendly, caring and open to hearing suggestions that workers or customers have. Everytime I walk into work, it is a great feeling, I am always greeted by several people. I got hired for one particular job but after being there for almost two years, I have learned how to do several different jobs. The company always makes me, employees and customers feel welcome, appreciated and cared for and I am glad I work there!
I enjoyed the retail environment and I found that the processes of the company, including the POS system, the schedule and time card interface, and the Zebra system were all user friendly and useful. I enjoyed being paid weekly as opposed to biweekly. I found that scheduling was often not done according to mine and my coworkers wishes for how many hours we would work and how many employees were present at one time. I did not get as many hours as I agreed to in the beginning and I often was scrambling at work because of being underscheduled. Besides that, Kohls seemed to be committed to an encouraging work environment. The scheduling issues may very well have been a local problem.
