As a part-time employee at Madewell I was responsible for 30% of the store’s sales. The following year I was responsible for 50% of the store’s profits. As I continued to increase the store’s profits I was chosen to represent the Madewell brand as Atlanta’s first lead (full-time) stylist. I have become the top stylist there, and one of the company’s first stylists to achieve $1 Million in sales for the retail fiscal year, and the only one in the Southeast. I exceed sales goals, but results are a reflection of success in my stylization process. I create an experience and build a unique wardrobe. I want to showcase my skills and hone my ever-developing talents. Unfortunately Madewell’s successes were not enough to combat J.Crew’s underperformance this year. J.Crew cut full-time employees that are part of the Madewell brand, including myself. I have chosen to complete my college education. There is no potential growth at Madewell other than being a part-time employee.

I love the employee discount and working with my team! The job is very energetic, supportive, and gives me opportunities to grow within the company.
Everybody is welcoming and eager to help out. There is always a smile on their faces. The workplace is always calm and positive, there is never any drama. Coming from a previous job where drama was all around, not having it is very refreshing. There is always one on one communication with customers, which allows us to build connections and have them come back into the store to shop.
As a visual associate and design student, I'm able to show my creativity in certain areas around the store. I'm also given the freedom to share my concepts and or ideas with my managers with little to no consequences. If my ideas are liked, I'm able to execute and present new looks, concepts, and any other visual aspect that I have come up with.
