One of IBM's key strengths lies in its extensive portfolio of solutions and services. From cloud computing and artificial intelligence to data analytics and cybersecurity, IBM offers a wide range of cutting-edge technologies that help businesses stay competitive and drive digital transformation. The company's offerings are designed to address the complex challenges faced by organizations across various sectors, enabling them to enhance efficiency, make data-driven decisions, and unlock new opportunities.
Great company and a great Talent team. Benefits are substantial with paid time off. Compensation could be higher as the work was intense as times and should be equal to the work the employees are putting in. Management is responsive to needs as well as willing to hear employees out. Remote work was flexible with longer hours. There was a lot of work that needed to be done which was often stressful, especially in COVID when the work significantly increased. I was fully remote so I only was able to engage with team mates via Zoom & Teams. It would have been nice to have a flex schedule to go into the office once a week or two. IBM went through a restricting which often made me nervous about layoffs and how I might be affected. There wasn't a sense of stability as myself and the team were often on edge on if our jobs would be secured or not.
IBM is one of the only large tech giants I would work for without feeling completely morally corrupt. The pay and work life balance as a sales engineering is awesome. My biggest gripe is with the politics that happen - but this is at any large tech corporation who serves other large clients. You have to build the right relationships internally to have saying power and leverage for career progression - merit is never enough alone. I get to WFH and travel to clients and decide my own schedule.
