Hackensack University Medical Center Reviews
Rating 4 out of 5 6 reviews
I worked in the Pharmacy Department. The only thing missing to make this 3 or 4 stars is enthusiasm in our department head that helps trickle down to pharmacists, then onto technicians. What makes this a decent workplace is that they kind of help you work around school schedule and by this it still means getting your hours in whether you pull doubles or stay after midnight. There is no sense of camaraderie like in the retail pharmacies. It is every woman for themselves here. No one cares if you are behind and if they do, there is no gratitude for helping. Scheduling is a headache and you are tricked as to what schedule you will work when you get hired ex: overnight when you applied for evening. I did love the assistance with education, however my coworkers informed me about it, absolutely nothing from management. I liked my benefits alot, my insurance bc I wear contacts and glasses. Parking is non existent, you have to take a bus or find parking on the street.
Although I think this is a great place to work because the environment is very motivating and people are friendly,I think this company needs to hire more employees. I think there is a serious shortage of employees, which causes a lot of burnout on the current workers. We are working extremely long hours and covering a lot of shifts to make up for the shortage. I also think the medical benefits should cost less.
It is an amazing place to work and gain experience in basically everything, the only downfall is the hospital is extremely understaffed in all departments.
