I found it hard to work here as a Muslim. Coworkers were not too friendly with seeing a hijabi work with them and would even talk behind my back. I found management easily taking sides over coworkers and having favorites. Management was very pushy with hours and would want me to come in on days I was unable to because I am a full-time student. Little accommodations are given to workers who are not favorites. I was almost written up for wanting to go home because I was crying over the unfair treatment. I was pregnant while working and my abilities were compared to other pregnant woman to make me feel guilty for not doing more than enough. I was also not able to sit during periods in which I was in pain since "I could've been lying". I'm hoping others did not have this same experience but needless to say I quit due to inappropriate management, unfair advantages others were given and being treated as a child.
I’ve been working there for about a year and a few months, my role has been promoted which is better than my starting role. I understand now how working here becomes you’re second home, if you don’t want it to be. Having friends in the workplace makes it worthwhile yet with how management is running, I’m surprised it hasn’t gone downhill yet. What I really enjoyed is having an hour for lunch, what will they cut off next? If we don’t make quota we are threatened, but what choice do we have we continue to stay even when we lose hope. Just hoping that the company will change. Even though I do enjoy the daily challenges, the pay isn’t enough to get by when you have student loans, or car insurance pay or rent. It’s a good place to start but don’t waste your life here.
I was a student worker here and only stayed at the Heath, Ohio location through the summer last year, but nonetheless I enjoyed my experience overall. It was my first job, and the morning shift, so it was hard to get used to working all day, but that had little to do with my experience at the actual location. I loved my coworkers and even the manager!
