Giant Eagle Inc. Reviews
Rating 3.77 out of 5 61 reviews
I believe that Giant Eagle is the greatest supermarket/grocery store ever. The certain location I work at is newly remodeled and looks modernized. I love the new look and I feel like it brings a breath of fresh air when entering inside because of the openness. Giant eagle in general is an amazing company. They tend to your needs and try their hardest to find and give you a job. Giant eagle is a very including and kind company. They give chances to people with special needs and even employ them which many other companies don’t even consider. I find this as the most positive thing about the company. I love to see that everyone is treated equally and even paid equally no matter who they are or what they do. I have been there for exactly a year now and I could not be more grateful for such an amazing first job. During major holidays like Thanksgiving, Halloween, and Christmas, it gets extremely busy and there is a lot of work to do. In all, I love my job at Giant Eagle Market District.
Working at Giant Eagle was an awful experience. The pay was subpar (minimum wage), especially for the workload given as a bagger/cartboy. I had to clean bathrooms, cigarette trays, handle garbage on top of my typical duties. This wouldn't have been that bad had the pay been competitive.
The atmosphere of working at Giant is generally pleasant; there is nothing particularly special about the working environment, but that can be a good thing. There are no serious problems with the company or the staff and the policies are quite lax. This is a great job for teenagers looking to save money for college.
