Erie VA Medical Center Reviews
Rating 2 out of 5 2 reviews
I cannot comment on the medical service. However, from working (2013-2015) in the Engineering (Construction) Dept., I can clearly say that they are extremely disorganized and chaotic. They had no standard forms; many of the Arch. & MEP original plans of the bldg. are missing; upgrades & modifications to the bldg. systems are not updated onto plans, there are VA design standards that the Assis. Dir. had no knowledge about when I worked there. The maintenance techs brought into the dept. withheld information (electrical panel boards/circuits) from others in order to have superior knowledge. Dir. and Assis. Dir. Of Dept. did nothing about it when reported. The dept. and maintenance dept. work on the "good ole boy" system. Certainly wasn't an amiable place for a woman engineer to work. While there for 2 1/2 years, there were 3 different department heads!
I loved what I did and the type of work in the hospital. However, the department was a hostile environment to work in.

The engineering department is VERY unorganized. No standard procedures, for standard forms, lack of supervisor support, lack of hospital support.
