I liked the open lines of communications. Whenever you need to talk to a customer service representative they were there. You could email them, call them and even sometimes chat them. I disliked the negative bias towards sellers. Overall in cases of item dispute, the officiators leaned in favor of the buyer even when confronted with no evidence to inform that decision. Overall I heavily enjoy this job and plan on continuing my endeavors for quite some time. The one thing I would like them to fix is the moderation of information shared between customers and seller, much too restricted.
We are a vendor on eBay that sells used items bought from thrift stores, garage sales, and charity thrift stores. While we have been able to make a profit on eBay, it's not very good profit margins for our area. Where we are based at is surrounded by low income towns, and as a result the items we acquire through our sourcing ventures are low quality, cheap items that don't sell very well. It can be more profitable if you live in a more heavily populated area with towns that are higher income, so location is a major factor if you deal in used items.
I'm actually a reseller on eBay. To start, it's an excellent platform eBay because it allows personal financial freedom and allows me to go to school while providing for myself. Another big advantage is being my own boss and setting my schedule. It's something that is truly unique and that I enjoy doing. I'm grateful for many things eBay has taught me. From customer service skills to understanding how to run and operate a profitable business is invaluable knowledge in this day and age.
