So far my experience at Earthsavers has been a positive one. I enjoy going to work and my co-workers are very helpful and encouraging. The holidays came and the store became very busy, however everyone worked together and the days leading up to Christmas went by very smoothly. The spa environment is very relaxing and the business itself has a eucalyptus scent, which is nice and creates a significant calming environment. Another aspect about Earthsavers that I really appreciate, is when someone is finished with their spa service and their face is full of satisfaction. The only thing I would change about the work place is to add more in-store training on the products we sell. We will be able to learn about them faster, and answer any questions a customer may have. Being able to recommend something better than what they are using or something in addition to what they are using is very helpful when dealing with skincare or body care.
Earthsavers is a decent job as long as you are on top of sanitation and keeping up with Time Management. The pay is decent in busy seasons, however there is always down time in the beauty and wellness industry as it is a luxury. Unfortunately, when it is extremely slow, you may not have a single client all day and you will have to wait your entire shift not getting paid as it is only 40% commission, no hourly pay. Sometimes, Managers will tell you to break down and leave early, then later tell you that you need to make up the hours you have missed. Aside from all the slow periods and wishy washy attitudes from management, it actual is a nice spa. You don't have to worry about scheduling your own appointments or checking anyone out, that way you solely focus on the client and sanitation.
Earthsavers is an exceptional store with lots to offer for their customers. The products are great and the co-workers are always sweet. working here has given me the opportunity to get through my education, while giving me communication skills that i need for the real world.
