Donna Karan International Reviews
I worked in retail at DKNY, and they only get two stars because of my excellent coworkers. There was intense pressure from management to make sales that just weren't happening (due to lack of customer traffic or interest in the products), and we were chastised personally for not meeting corporate sales goals. The store I work for eventually shut down due to improper market/location. Female managers were forced to wear heels during their shifts, despite having to be on their feet for 4-8+ hours straight. Management encouraged employees to work off the clock, and would lessen employee hours in the payroll system before submitting so that they didn't get in trouble with HR for going over budget. Hours were also cut to avoid giving benefits. DKNY, like many fashion brands, would destroy unsold clearance clothing (by ripping, shredding) before tossing it in the trash. Harmful to the environment and highly wasteful. It was against company policy to donate it to charity.
