Love the lovely experience with this company. I have been an employee here for almost two years now.
Pay is good for a college student. The work environment was not ideal or inviting. Management could be much better and overall the company needs a lot more help with making the visit for the customers good. The company really needs to make more improvements with the visit then making the sale. If customers aren't taken care of or not told clearly how we can assist them then the visit for any customer will continue to be like this. The company asks for faster service and more sales when they forget the customer. I think there are better ways we could make the customers understand the work being down while explaing their expected wait times.
Good hardworking job. You learn how to work hard and work with customers every day. A lot of room for advancement. Starting pay is good.
It is a good first job for those in high school. Unfortunately, unless you are considered a full-time management employee, then the company sees you as worthless and expendable.
Working at DT was hard and rough on the body. It was hard labor and would get harder during the winter season. The job was hard but the company truly cares about their employees and the growth they make. While the job was hard, they made sure all employees were happy. I would change the benefits given though. Being 'part-time', I didn't have benefits even though I was working 40+ hours a week.
Good pay, good hours. Hard work, crappy customers. Overall good. Management has the potential to be bad, but that is the case with any company.
This job works around my busy school schedule and other activities. Raises are awarded per your skills and job performance. The business is closed every Sunday, which is great if you have family or religious activities that you would like to attend on that day. Overall, I'm pretty happy that I applied at Discount Tire Company.
Really physically demanding. Would highly recommend that you demand $12 + depending on where you live. Keep in mind that doing this job while in school is really hard to balance but it possible, due to the flexible hours they offer.
I have learned a lot working at Discount Tire. The training modules are very detailed and informative. The workflow and positional hierarchy are very logical, organized, and effective. If I could change anything, I'd offer at least one paid break period for someone working open to close, which can be up to eleven hours total.
I absolutely love my job at Discount Tire. The first three months are kind of hard for most individuals, including myself. However, the workplace is competitive and offers promotions even for those who are new to the profession. I started as a simple service technician and worked my way to crew chief, service coordinator, and finally sales apprentice. I've only been working there for about ten months. If I wasn't going to college I could see myself working their the rest of my life. We are very inviting to our customers and we seek to ensure that they leave our store more safe than when they came in.
I love working at Discount Tire in the Midway shopping center of St. Paul, MN. The atmosphere is unbelievably great. We all work hard, have, fun and in turn get to go home a little after close every night. The money is very good as well , especially if you’re in high school and looking for a part time job. I’m confident that Discount Tire has helped me develop a stronger work ethic and has prepared me better for a future in the work force.
Great work environment very friendly and competitive place with excellent benefits I loved it.i started working for Discount since 1995 I love the benefits the insurance is awsome the pay is fantastic I don't regret it one bit.
great company to work for and you get promoted from within. The managers are well train and they have peoples skills. the work enviroment is also great and most people get along with each other. One of the things they do great is they promote from tire tech all the way up, they give you a chance even as a tire tech to learn everything to move up in the company.
I have enjoyed working at Discount Tire Co. It is a fast-paced work environment that has helped support me while I am in school. Discount Tire is very flexible as they work around my school schedule. They also pay a competitive wage that is hard to find at other similar retailers. Discount Tire also has a good 401K program and health care benefits for both full-time and part-time employees. Discount Tire also does a wonderful job cultivating people by constantly training which allows you to grow as an employee and as a person.
I have made many friends working at Discount Tire, and the comradery between employees is second-to-none. We always manage to have a little fun while working on customer's cars in a safe and efficient manner. The friendships I have made will last me a lifetime. The concepts of hard-work, dedication, and integrity, that have been instilled in me throughout my years at Discount Tire, will last me a lifetime as well.

I am the only female who has ever worked at my store. Overall, my coworkers are considerably respectful. The work environment is very difficult, especially for new employees. Management attitudes greatly influence the attitudes of all employees. Negativity is a major problem. A positive attitude can really help everyone.
I enjoy the people and the schedule flexibility. I enjoy the daily tasks and helping out customers.
Fun job with good life experience and pay, but in the winter there's no heaters and it can get pretty miserable in the summer and winter. Also no breaks.
