Didi Hirsch Reviews
Great work atmosphere with friendly co-workers and supervisors. Everyone is there to support each other and their clients. Caseloads can be overwhelming at times, but working here allows you to feel connected to the community and see the benefits of the services social workers strive to provide. Staff includes psychiatrists, psychologists, PsyD.'s, LMFT's, LCSW's, ACSW's, MFT's, clinical interns, case managers, nurse practitioners, engagement and housing specialists, and an amazing administrative staff. I am so pleased to have taken this job. Although it can be intense and stressful in times of crisis, this job puts you on your feet and you hit the ground running. I am astonished when I look back and see how much I have learned in a short amount of time. I am thankful for this staff and the hard work we do with our clients. I am also in awe of clients who deal with the challenges of mental illness, poverty, and homelessness and their resiliency.
I have worked at Didi Hirsch for almost a year now and I can say that I have never been apart of a more inspiring organization. The work is hard and the population can sometimes be stressful because you often deal w/ people who are homeless, have various physical medical conditions, and/or are constantly suicidal. However, you are apart of a strong team that focuses on an integrated care model. I started working w/ TAY's (16-25) but now I work w/ mostly older adults (60+) and some adults. If you are interested in mental health and helping empower those in the community who face the challenges of poverty and homelesness, you will gain a lot of valuable experience at Didi Hirsch where you can apply your skills. You will also get to have a better insight into how a DMH operated/contracted agency works and become familiar w/ documentation and policies.
