Costco has a very unique culture in the business world, but still suffers from the disease that all public companies do. The desire for profit above all else is antithetical to the founding principles of Costco and any truly successful company should be primarily concerned with the human costs of their actions. As leadership transitions from those who built the company in the 80s, to the current leaders, I hope for a rejuvination of the original message and ethics of Costco.
Besides a job being a job, it's the best I've had yet. Employees are selected carefully and management is on top of making sure there's a wholesome work environment and that employees are being treated fairly. There are several programs and great benefits available to employees as well.
The company's hiring practices were very disorganized and onboarding was very messy. I was given multiple answers by different people when asking questions. Once the onboarding process was complete everything then fell into place.
Working at Costco has been a rewarding experience overall. The company's emphasis on providing excellent customer service and fostering a positive work environment has been commendable. The team-oriented culture and strong work ethic among employees create a sense of camaraderie and support.
I appreciate the opportunities for growth and development that Costco offers. The company provides comprehensive training programs and encourages employees to expand their skills and take on new responsibilities. The competitive wages and benefits package also contribute to job satisfaction.
The workload can be overwhelming during peak periods, leading to increased stress and potential burnout. Implementing strategies to better manage the flow of customers and distribute workload evenly would greatly benefit employee well-being.

It is a good company to work for with good pay and benefits but it is really hard to be worked with for time off. As a college student going to school away from home, I do not get time off around the holidays to go see my family, which is very unfortunate. Other than that it is a decent work place.
I absolutely love working at Costco Travel. I have never worked in a better place, every person I interact with is positive and helpful and I feel like they are really here to help their employees succeed.
Super great place to work! There are tons of benefits, excellent pay, and the company takes care of its employers.
The reason why I liked it was because I was a college student and they gave me limited part time and I was able to Co-op or have a internship through summers while working. they make sure you get a schedule that we work within your classes so you can have a balances work life and social like. One thing I would like to see change is management and our supervisors that look over us. They chose favorites and don't care how long or how hard you work. they will make you work an area that you are only supposed to be at for 2.5hrs and make you stay there for longer than 4-5. They also don't take into consideration if you know certain areas and will have a new hire go into that location knowing nothing and living you with the dirty work. They also all don't like each other which makes things a lot harder because they are never on the same page.
I love working at Costco! They provide good support on your career and family goals. They are more focused on taking care of their employees and allowing us to make the money, instead of focusing on numbers and money before the employees. I feel valued and part of a team!
the job itself was a really good job, the only thing that I didn't like was my manager for the bakery. she would never communicate with me really and when I would get really sick and I would have a doctors note, she wouldn't care about the doctors note and saying I was not really sick and just faking it and the doctors note didn't mean anything. she would also tell me that my last day December 24th over the phone by the way. I then get a call on the 26th if I'm coming into work today I then proceeded to tell her you told me my last day was the 24th. she then tell me that she never said that she never would tell her employees their last day.I was already out of town at that point I told her I'm not in town I won't be in town until later tonight she said I still need to call off even tho I would not aware I was still on schedule. she then told me my new day last day would be the 7th of January I told her I need that in writing please text that to me. she never did I was realized the 1st
it has been a good experience getting to know many people in the workplace and understanding that the members always come first. honestly, it showed me how to know how members were feeling and understand the work-ready attitude that is well needed in Costco
I enjoyed the pay and always being able to move around and try different departments. the work is easy but can be mentally draining.
Costco, is a company where you can go up the ranks and make a better living for yourself. They have good benefits and are very organized. Sadly, some managers and supervisors, not all but some, are horrible people.
Very good place to be treated well and given great opportunitys to be better, start part time then to full time
When I first started working for Costco in 2019, I felt grateful to be working for a company that took care of the employees. I have been a full time student and for the first two years I was able to be accommodated with my school schedule. In 2021 we had a new schedule writer who constantly scheduled me on days and times I had class. I would bring it up with him and the managers. For two weeks I would have the schedule I needed and the issue would arise and I would have to bring it up again. Costco has lost more employees in 2021 than any other year. My final straw was when new management would not take responsibility for their mistakes. I had switched a shift and filed all of the necessary paperwork and still got written up even though I went through the proper channels. Costco did not hold up their side of the agreement for me to be a part of the College Student Retention Program which resulted me in being forced to quit as I was not able to work due to transferring.
Costco retail is good opportunity for young people get experience in the work environment as well as make enough money to provide of themselves on there own.
Overall working for Costco is really good. The positive atmosphere and the boost of moral the employees get periodically is quite nice. Opportunities for job growth are satisfactory. The benefits are the best part as they help me pay for many medical issues that I am burdened with. I would like for Costco Wholesale to get more positive recognition, as the company is constantly improving in this everchanging economy. the scheduling is very flexible as well as they are more than willing to work alongside my school schedule as well as other work schedules that you may have not in relation to Costco.
