I have worked for Cinemark theaters for almost 8 years and grew to become an Assistant Manager. I have worked at 2 different locations and was a manager at both. This job was a pretty good entry level job for me to get a management position on my resume, however, it's quite difficult to move up in the company past assistant management. It is nearly impossible to make it into the corporate sector without knowing a lot of people. With the amount of frustration management deals with on a daily basis, I do not believe that the compensation makes up for it. I believe the best parts of the job lie in the flexibility that everyone gets with scheduling. It is a fantastic job to work at while in high school or college because you can change your schedule depending on school.
I would suggest they need better management who treats their employees as normal humans instead of paid, micromanaged, robots. I really loved my fellow coworkers however, disliked the way the business was ran and having such limited benefits for all we contribute.
This place taught me a lot of skills that I can use in future occupations that give me an advantage over other people
I have worked at Cinemark for almost a year now, and it has been an extremely positive experience. They offer raises every 6 months and they offer many benefits to employees. Employees get free movies, a large discount on purchases, and free popcorn and beverages. They are very flexible with the hours you work which allows me to work how many hours I want to work to maintain a healthy work to life balance. Every employee is always very happy to be there and is always willing to help.
great place for high school students or anyone looking for a few hours while they go to school. Fun atmosphere and the free movies and popcorn are a plus.
I have loved working here and even had the chance to internship for this company! The people are amazing and they are always trying to become better!
My overall experience at Cinemark has been positive, the atmosphere is very nice there and the work isn't hard. Many of the employees are younger and around my age, and they are all very friendly and there is a sense of community amongst the lower level employees and the managers. However, the hours are long, the work is hectic, and the pay is minimal. There are also strict dress codes for entry-level employees which requires you to buy a whole new wardrobe just for work.
My co-workers were very pleasant to work with. Overall the experience was new and fun. Hours are very flexible. I was in school full time and employed part time. Sick time and PTO is offered which was nice to have. Always staying busy. Higher pay would’ve been nice. Not much room for a higher up position. Only 2 positions are offered higher than Assistant manger, which didn’t really interest me. This job is primarily on your feet, whether it’s helping behind stand, selling tickets, stocking, etc.
This was my first job, which I left but loved so much I came back. While the work is hard, it is rewarding. The management team does what it can to make the more mundane tasks as fun and enjoyable as possible. It is encouraged to make friends within the team.
It's a great first job to pick up. Very easy work and the managers are more or less chill and nice. It teaches you how to manage a schedule and work different types of labor while being in a team environment. The pay is not great but it is satisfactory for the labor provided.
My experience working at Cinemark has been good. The management and workers are are friendly and everyone works well together. I was able to grow from working at Cinemark.
I have been with the company for over 5 years and one of the many aspects that makes Cinemark a wonderful company is their professionalism. The company is professional in all respects, including employee relations, customer service, and general operations. Their professionalism makes working enjoyable, as well helping to provide a fun, safe environment for guests to enjoy.
The thing I really liked about Cinemark was that they were willing to work with me knowing I was a college student trying to balance a full time school unit load as well as another job. They were very flexible but still guaranteed me work hours. The only thing I would change would be to have a better method of communication between employees and upper management. The upper management wasn't there as much as some employees, so it was hard to be able to talk to them.
Cinemark is the perfect beginning high school job. I enjoyed my times at cinemark. The hours are very very flexible, however, the hours are long shifts for such hard work we do. I believe we should get payed way more than what are getting payed for.
My coworkers were great, and the actual job wasn't too bad, but the hours were really horrible, with little to no flexibility or understanding on the part of the supervisors or managers.
My experience here has been a rollercoaster of making amazing memories and fantastic friends and relationships. Management here is decent but I would like to see more effort in caring more for employees.
I love my job. My boss is great - he's flexible with my home life and allows me to work from home when needed. He treats me well, and we make a great team. My department as a whole works well together and everyone gets along very well. I have a blast at my job every day.
