I enjoy my time at Cigna. It is definitely a step up from working in a retail pharmacy, however my job does function as an inbound call center. The main difference is that you are having to handle calls with physicians, facilities, and pharmacies to process authorizations. I am able to have a change in day to day activities, from being on the phones to working faxes to making select calls to providers. There is opportunity for growth but you have to be meeting metrics and do well on your evaluations if you want to move to a different department or gain a lead or supervisor position.
They are a large company that cares about individuals. I have had great opportunities for growth, mentorship and learning about health insurance. They have great values and morals.
Great company overall to work for. Since they are a remote employer now and I had trouble finding a daycare with a slot open in my area, I got pushed out the door, which I ended up hearing happens a lot. I recently heard they made some changes to their process for employees and that is enlightening for future employees.
