Great company to work for, the constant evolution of processes is always appreciated. They encourage growth through-out departments.
I've been working at CHOP for a year now and I it took me a while to get acclimated to the fast paced environment, however my co-workers made the transition easier. I was never afraid to ask questions or ask for their help. It was an adjustment getting used to the long hours, however once I did get adjusted to the schedule, the work got a little easier. Some days are harder than others, but the patients, families and colleagues I work with every day make the job a little easier.
Children's Hospital of Philadelphia is a great opportunity to grow and develop in the healthcare field. I work part time, and my benefits are amazing. As a pre-med student, I have been given a tremendous amount of opportunities to shadow doctors, and participate in further medical learning to help prepare me for my long term academic and career goals. There are some employee biases, which I believe occur in most jobs anyway, so this is definitely a problem at times. Nevertheless, I am very content with this job and what it provides me.
