The people we serve is what keeps me motivated at my job. In the 12 years I have been there, I have seen a lot of changes. There are new regulations being put in place. It has been a difficult adjustment and we are going through growing pains. Who we serve is our priority, but the employees also need to be a priority. Working together and encouraging each other is the most important thing in this service. It cannot be run like a business. That has been the most challenging change of recent. We are persons. A great positive has been the Mandt training. It is a great reminder of how to treat one another (staff and person we serve)-- emphasis on communication and good, healthy relationships. CHANGE is working out its kinks, but I am hopeful the company will move toward a realistic model of serving our individuals well.
