Overall a great place to work. Obviously there is room for improvement. Being such a large organization it is easy to become a small fish in a big pond as an entry-level employee. Management needs to do a better job at encouraging entry-level employees and therefore increasing their retention rates. Right now, retention rates seem to be very low among entry-level employees. However, one up-side to the large size of the organization are the endless amount of opportunities. It seems encouraged to look internally first before hiring outside of the company, which I think is a great thing.
I worked at a branch in Soda Springs, ID and AECOM was very good at compensating for work. Sometimes upper management would make things difficult but the local management would not take it out on the lower end employees. They would always make the workplace safe and secure, safety was the main objective everyday. I think AECOM in general is very safety oriented, and provides ample opportunities in safety training. Local managers and supervisors are very friendly and helpful in all aspects of work. There was no demeaning talk or treatment of the employees, and they used mistakes as opportunities for learning. Very glad I worked at the branch in Soda Springs, wouldn't have worked anywhere else.
Joined AECOM right out of college, have loved my experience there working in the cultural department! Hours are flexible, employees are always enjoyable, good out-of-office community as well. Happy to be here.
