Zachary has been an interesting little city for me. It is currently growing in residential and commercial buildings. As a result, the population is shooting up. People are very welcoming and it is very easy to get connected to local activities. There is not much in an entertainment way except for the Zachary High sports teams. Most of entertainment is in Baton Rouge, 30 minutes away. On the plus side, there are many different types of restaurants within the city limits. There are local and chain restaurants throughout the city. Overall, this is nice little town if you want to feel connected and at home.
Very strong sense of community and acceptance of diversity. Friendly to visitors and willing to try new things. Top-tier public education and sports programs.
No fear of serious crime or avoidable neighborhoods. Not a gentrified attitude
in town. No "power broker" local citizens who try to control things. Great sense
of acceptable land use for residential and commercial.

I have been a life long resident of Zachary. It is a great place to raise a family. Zachary High School is one of the top rated schools in the state of Louisiana. The neighbor hoods in the area are well maintained visually & safety wise. There are areas for country living & modern homes with the newest designs. Almost everything that you would like to do is nearby with a commute of only approximately 25 mintues to Baton Rouge. Zachary has been building up it's community with new restaurants, shops, & homes. Zachary is low on nightlife but makes up for that with the daytime activities provided. Overall, Zachary is not only a place to visit but a place you could call home.
