The small town environment is nice and cozy. I feel safe all the time, even walking around at night. It's also easy to drive around, which is nice for an inexperienced driver like myself. However, even after a year of living here, I still miss the conveniences of the larger cities, such as variety in restaurants, culture opportunities, museums, etc. And the food prices are higher than back in Denver. Also, with only one gym available, with a monthly price I can't afford, I haven't been able to be as healthy as I need to be. So, not bad, but not somewhere I want to live all my life.

In Yuma there are things available if you need them. There is a small grocery store that has the usual food that is needed. If there are specific things needed you would have to travel to the closest Walmart which is about one hour away. There are excellent hardware stores. ACE is the hardware store in Yuma. They usually have everything that people need. Also since our town is agriculture based there are stores like John Deere, Caterpillar, and many of those big companies. The restaurants are not that great, they could be better. We really only have one good restaurant in Yuma and that has a variety of food. We do have a Dairy Queen and a Subway which are nice to eat at. Most of the stores that Yuma has are personally owned and not a chained company. Yuma provides you with things that you need, but if you are looking for a specific thing you will have to travel to get it.
There are many things that Yuma does that attracts people from all over. One thing is the County Fair. There are many things that happen at this like showing of animals, competitions for things, rodeos, and livestock auctions. There is also something called Old Threshers that many people come to. This event teaches people about what how in the olden days things worked, like threshing wheat, blacksmithing, and printing newspaper.
