As a young adult in this town, there really isn't much to do unless you go to Amelia Island or Jacksonville. Our idea of "fun" is to walk around Walmart or leave. The people here are mostly conservative, which can create a feeling of suppression for anyone "out of the ordinary". The rapid construction of buildings, roads, and subdivisions also takes away from any small hometown vibes that were here before. Overall, not a comfortable place to be at this time.

Love my house, however the area is too conservative (politically) for my personal taste. But we choose to build our house up here, because we could have our dream home (within reason) and still afford our life. Jacksonville has become too over priced in the housing market. Yulee has good school systems, and my daughter is in an amazing home daycare. Can't complain too much.
It's a small town just beginning to grow but it's full of the nicest people you'll ever meet. Fast food establishments like Zaxby's, Whataburger, and Barberitos (Yulee only, NOT the Fernandina location!) draw crowds from as far away as Texas! The crowning jewel of the town is an impressive Carmike Island Cinemas (plush seats, wine/alcohol on location, and amazing sound!) just beside the local Winn-Dixie.

More importantly, this town is full of people who will give you the shirt off their back. If you've lost your way AT LEAST six people will help you get where you need to be.
