Ypsilanti is a ever-growing city. It has come a long way, but could still use some transitioning. The crime rate and highlighted violent instances makes the safety concern at a higher rate as of recently. However, the residents and police authority have been trying to initiate programs and resources to eliminate the negativity from their city. They have a great expanding college scene for interested students, as well as affordable tuition. This helps promote education and as well as a positive atmosphere for current residents to look forward to. Ypsilanti could however use some local profit-building department stores, such as a supermarket, produce, and small shopping area. There are a couple markets on the outskirts of Ypsilanti, but they don't bring much attention to the heart/ community of Ypsilanti, that I know it could bring. I do see Ypsilanti going in a brighter direction and I'm sure the residents do too!

I love living in Ypsilanti. We don't have all the things Ann Arbor has, but we do have a unique charm.

Ypsilanti is big enough that it feels like a city but small enough that it feels like a village. You can go straight from the city to the country in less than 10 minutes in any direction.

The restaurant scene in Ypsi is a hidden gem in SE Michigan. Many foodies look to A2 as a foodie paradise, missing out on the unique offerings that Ypsi has like Maiz, Sidetracks, and Red Rock BBQ.

I live in Ypsi as a college student, so I can't comment on real estate or the schools. But overall, its a very affordable place to live.
Ypsilanti is my hometown. Ypsilanti is diverse, upcoming city. Every year the city is getting better and better. Ypsilanti Community Schools District is very promising for children. There are so many opportunities for the children that go to Ypsilanti Community Schools District. Whether that is a college program, and internship, jobs or clubs. For example, the Ypsilanti Community School robotics team has had the honor to travel to China and a robotics competition. The city of Ypsilanti comes alive in winter because that when Eastern Michigan University which is located in the city of Ypsilanti has a lot of events going on. It's very easy to get an internship at Eastern Michigan University because it works so closely with his community and Ypsilanti Community School District.
