Living in Youngstown is very off the grid. There is no crime, but it is also very remote. Beautiful Lake Ontario surrounds the area. There are parks, farms with food sold locally, and tiny village with locally owned restaurants and bars. There is no grocery store within 8 miles. If you want to do any major shopping you would need to drive to Niagara Falls which is about 18 minutes south.
I have lived here my whole life, and there is not a doubt in my mind that I have loved every minute of it. Although it is small, the benefits of getting to know neighbors and residents in the town at local restaurants and tourist sites is something that one could never get enough of. The sunsets, Niagara River, Lake Ontario, and Old Fort Niagara provide outstanding views and enjoyment for visitors from all over. Local businesses and restaurants have some of the best service I have ever experienced and are always working to please and provide the most amount of fun and entertainment possible. I love this town with my whole heart and I can't thank the people of Youngstown enough for making this my home for the last 17 years.
