I used to live in Yanceyville and wish I had never left. Fortunately, I live only 30 minutes away and have old friends there who I visit frequently.

The way the world is going now, so many people live lives of social alienation -- their computer, smartphone & internet their only real way of connecting with others. Yanceyville is one of those rare places that offers the near-perfect balance of being in a community where you'll feel connected, in real life, with others -- yet also not bothered because you'll treasure those friendships.

Yanceyville has to be one of the most underrated towns in all of North Carolina. In some ways, this is a good thing because it remains one of the state's best-kept secrets. You can have the best of everything here. If you want the city, Durham and Greensboro are within an hour's drive. If you want the country, you're pretty much in it and can explore some truly magnificent places nearby, too like Hyco Lake.
I recently bought a home in this town. A key reason I decided to do so is affordability factor and quality of life.

Yanceyville is a secret gem, a town filled with diversity and charm, open spaces, and fresh air.

What's more is you're within a hour's drive to some great places in the state. 20 minutes to the Amtrak station in Danville, VA and you can be comfortably in Washington DC in about 4 and a half hours.

It's a town on the brink of incredible greatness. I'm so happy to call it home.
