Yadkin Township Reviews
It's a nice place with beautiful scenery but the people are what make it not so great. When the scenery decided to stick in the late 1800s, so did the mindset of most of the people. We made national news because one group of people thought that they were better than another and the town tore itself apart over it. In fact, that's happened a couple of times. And every afternoon a group of people will drive their pickup trucks down the little main street and proudly display the confederate flag. But every once in a while some better people will cross your path and then you're left smiling at the beautiful mountains and large feilds. The flowers blooming in spring still make me smile. And there is a certain charm to most of the town being lost in time. The buildings haven't changed "downtown" since the 1920s. There are plenty of things to do nearby like hike and perform. And you don't even need to pay to go to an amusement park because the hairpin turns in the road are all you need!
The police are very visible in this town because it is seen more of a status symbol around here than a job. But sometimes they seem more concerned with getting a donut and chatting at Sheetz than actually working. And since we live in a small town, it's easy for them to target specific cars to enforce laws upon instead of the entire population. But crime isn't that bad. The most problems we get are disturbances of the peace due to shooting and firecrackers and speeding down the main road of the town.
The food in the area is really good, and it is all reasonably priced as well. One of my favorite things to get is the grilled chicken sandwich at King Kitchen. The nightlife options in King are lacking, but in the overall variety of things King is doing good.
