Working in Xenia
Xenia is a great Mid West town. Small enough to know most of the streets, big enough to have many opportunities. It is close to a moderate sized city of Dayton and an hour's drive from two large cities. The schools are diverse, there are public, private, and charter schools to find what best meets your needs. Several major universities and several community colleges. Something for everyone!
Xenia is a very calm and serene city. It has plenty of people, interesting architecture and an extensive amount of churches. This town is great as it is close to many bigger cities that are full of activities. It is also far enough away that you don't feel over run by people that aren't even local. Xenia has lots of bike trails and a few hiking areas. If your looking for somewhere that isn't tiny, but also doesn't have the hustle and bustle of a big city Xenia may be for you.
I have lived in Xenia for 15 of my 17 years. I find that it has a lot of really great people in it that definitely want to see this town shine. The one thing I would say is that it does not offer much for the kids to do. They closed the public pool, and the bowling alley. There isn't a mall or movie theater. I would love to see these things develop in my small town. There is a really nice library, where I have spent many hours reading or studying. It has beautiful old historic buildings that are slowly being restored. It is a diverse town with many cultures, religions, and races being represented. I look forward to traveling the country, but I am proud to call Xenia home!
