I have been living in Wylie since 2001, I had several great memories growing up here but it could have been better. I had to transfer to a different middle school because of bullying from other students. It made me feel that it was my fault and i deserved it. I have a learning disabality and was often picked on because of it. Teachers would tell me to "just ignore it" or " just get over it and grow up" instead of actually adresssing the issue of bullying. Because I felt that no one care about me my grades were at all time low . After transfering to a different school the environment was entirely different and for once felt like teachers cared about me. My grades began to drasticaly improve and i started to recieve A's! The one thing that i feel could really benifit Wylie is to create more community outreach programs. These programs could allow participants such as teachers, students and families get involved in addressing issues students faced in schools such as bullying.

I have lived in Wylie for 18 years and I would say this is a wonderful city to live. I have grown up here coming from Dallas and this city has been flourishing and becoming bigger. It started as a little city where you see a few small areas, grass and cornfields now many stores, schools and community colleges are being built in the city of Wylie. Its also a very safe city with a very low crime rate, many resources for families and children for the schools and activities.
I LOVE Wylie! Everything about it is great, from the people to the environment. However, if I could see one thing change, it's definitely the traffic. It's no highway backup, but roads can become annoyingly congested outside of the suburbs.
