Wyandotte Reviews
Rating 4 out of 5 53 reviews
This wonderful small downriver city is proud of its heritage and family friendly neighborhoods. Its schools are excellent. Its walkable downtown is clean and attractive with many shops, restaurants, and quality night spots for all ages. Bishop Park, on the banks of the Detroit River, is a jewel among the many neighborhood parks and playgrounds that demonstrate the city's commitment to a rich quality of life. I love living here!
I’m currently an RHS senior and here’s my honest take on Wyandotte.
Pros:
-Rich history. You can learn a lot about our unique history in our museums.
-Detroit River offers great scenery and rowing.
-School district is great. Teachers are knowledgeable and entertaining. (We even have college-grade microscopes, an astronomy lab, and terrific auto shop / STEM programs.)
-Tight-knit neighborhoods. It’s common to see neighborhood cookouts (depending where in Wyandotte you live).
-Downtown area has many restaurants, bars, and halls (for yoga, grad parties, etc.)
Cons:
-Most backyards are good size, but you won’t find acres of land for sale.
-Property crime is a bit high, probably because Detroit is nearby.
-(I consider this a con, but I understand why many view this as a pro): There are lots of new apartments and buildings being built, so after a couple decades, Wyandotte may be more crowded.

Absolutely wonderful place to live. Wonderful people, culture, and opportunity. Best of downriver. Great schools, parks, and plenty of family friendly places. As well as a great bar scene and plenty of food options.
