Woodland Park is a small town within Passaic County of New Jersey. However, it is a great and safe location to raise your family. They have great summer programs for kids, and the library and town hall are very active with the town folks. Diversity within Woodland is great, there is a greater white population, however, there is a good amount of diversity within the town. The public schooling they provide is great, from free pre-k to middle school. The only issue would be that you would have to share a high school between three town, Little Falls, Woodland park, and Totowa. But, overall it's a cute small town prefect for starting a family.
My favorite thing about living in Woodland Park, NJ is that the town feels like a suburb nestled in the mountains, but it is so close to everything you need. A major highway is down the street. NYC is 30 min away. Public transportation is easy to access. Also, Woodland Park has amazing places to eat!
I love living in Woodland Park. It is near the highways and the malls and places are open later for people who work. I lived in Wayne prior to moving and they were not as accommodating to people who work (like the Post office in Wayne closes at 4pm, while those in Woodland Park close at 7pm). Woodland Park has lots of parks and places to walk, yet is is close to Wayne, Totowa, and Little Falls to take advantage of those things they have to offer.
