There are plenty of options for foodies to explore, including local favorites like Bahama Breeze, Tandoori Nights, and Uncle Julio's. For those who love shopping, the town is home to several malls and outlets, including Potomac Mills, one of the largest outlet malls in the country. I love my area but its getting way too populated. constant construction and traffic these days. But with that said, I enjoy getting to see the diverse faces and backgrounds the area has to offer! It seems although everyone you meet came from a different country or state and speak different languages. I love getting to know everyone around my city and finding out how awesome their life stories are. But, on the negative side of that, you meet some pretty terrible people. Racists, xenophobes, sexists, etc. Although they aren't a common sight, they're still there sadly. There's also a few really nice hiking trails around, especially the ones in Prince William Forest Park. Its a beautiful forest filled with bears, dear, beautiful birds, you name it! I've basically grown up here and if I could go back in time and choose a different place... I wouldn't. all the negative parts about my area are severely outweighed by the good. If I were able to afford the cost of living here alone, I would.
Woodbridge is a city very welcoming to families both young and old. I have lived here all of my life and have family very close in surrounding counties. If there is one thing that stands out about Woodbridge, Virginia, it would be the public school system.
The involvement that public school staff have with the community is very passionate. Throughout the school year there are several school events for parents and children to attend. Students are given a strong support system, which includes helpful school counselors. This allows students to be successful and grow a sense of what they are interested in after grade school. I have also had the opportunity of taking free college classes through the community college within high school. Having lived here for so long, I have been through all of the curriculum taught in Woodbridge schools and feel very confident that I will be ready to graduate high school and attend a state school.
