The public school system in Wisconsin Rapids definitely has some of the best teachers around. Teachers are willing to go the extra mile to help a student be successful, and get the most out of their learning. Wisconsin Rapids is a great place to raise a family, with many schools and great neighborhoods through the area. Wisconsin Rapids is also very centrally located, only an hour from Marshfield or Wausau, and half an hour from Stevens Point. This means that even if there aren't many job opportunities in Rapids, commuting to work is easier. Wisconsin Rapids also boasts a few biking and walking paths along the Wisconsin River, Lake Nepco, and Lake Wazeecha. Rapids is a great area to get active recreationally!

The drug problem is always getting worse. The police are trying to limit the drugs circulating around but its just not cutting it. I work at a hardware store so i hear all kinds of stories on why people come in to get hardware for their projects. One of the most common reasons for new locks and door knobs is thieves. There has been a increasing number of people breaking into houses and stealing other peoples property. My assumption to the reason that is happening is to get money for drugs. I myself know a hand full of people that either overdosed on drugs or that have taken their life due to addiction. The city of Wisconsin Rapids would not be as bad if the drug level where to come down and hopefully following it, the crime rate.
The town itself is a great place to raise young kids. There are a lot of parks to go to and it has decent schools. I would send my children to the Assumption Catholic School system, because of the learning that is accomplished there. There are a few sketchy parts of the city and not a lot to do other than eat out at restaurants. Overall, the town is a great place to raise children and to retire, but there is not much to do if one is from the ages of sixteen to twenty. The city is a growing area and has a great future.
