Winona is a descent-sized town located in a beautiful area of the country, and has experienced great job growth and opportunity, and is what think is the MOST BEAUTIFUL PLACE IN MINNESOTA . The people are so FRIENDLY and welcoming here. I’ve tried being BORED in Winona and ITS HARD, Winona has so much to offer in nature, activities and things to do. There are tons of things to do at Lake Winona. Lake Winona is surrounded with Trails you can run, bike or rollerblade on, and pretty much every where on the trail there’s an amazing view of the bluffs and historical Markers such as Sugarloaf, The rose garden and veterans memorial park. There are also lots of parks here with outstanding views of Winona and the Mississippi valley like Garvin heights park, The Sugarloaf trail and LaCanne memorial park, and that’s JUST TO MENTION A FEW. Thank You for reading!

Beautiful views and an affordable place to live, but very few friendly people. The people who are nice are usually elderly people in my experience. I moved to Winona when I was 19 and have experienced so much prejudice for being a student at the tech college. Listing tech school education on my resume has made it really hard to find a job, even with having previous work experience. I have actually had employers from all over Winona not hire me because there are students that go to WSU who apparently need the job more than me. It makes me sick.
Also, I don’t choose to live here, I have to because my fiancées job is here. For
being a small town, there seems to be a lot of theft, shooting, and burglaries. I’m scared to even leave my house to go for a walk at night.
Winona is a beautiful place filled with kind hearted people. Sure there is occasional small crime, but this is a safe town. If people reviewing this town say there is nothing to do here.... well to put it bluntly, they are most likely fat. There a countless hiking trails over rolling bluffs, snow shoeing, ice skating, paddleboarding on the Mississippi, all sorts of different races/triathalons. This place is a treasure for those who want to be outdoors. There are some local treasures like the art museum and roccos. If you don't like winona.... move to a big city where you can live a cushy-indoor life.
