A beautiful suburb with a very walkable “town”. The people are generally social-climbers (a lot of new money), and lack manners and decorum. Of course there are lovely people, too, just have to seek them out. I’m stunned that the crime ranking is not higher, and that burglary is ranked at “0”. There is a well known, and much talked about, issue with gangs coming up from the city and raiding unlocked vehicles (some with keys in them!) and homes. I do feel generally safe, but also keep things locked. The schools boast about their “Progressive Ed” which is lovely, by the reality is that children are not adequately prepared once they reach the high school, which draws children from neighboring towns. If you move, your child will likely benefit from repeating a grade as they will be unprepared against national schools. If you intend to live here throughout your children’s education, they may be okay.

Family friendly with great amenities and big city quality events. Park district is great - ice arena, play fields, indoor and outdoor tennis courts, par 3 and 18 hole golf course are in one area across the street from the middle schools. Better restaurants are taking hold, more development coming in. First music festival was a great hit this summer. Nielson Challenger tennis tournament is high quality event.
Being a suburb with the majority of residents being in the top 1% financially, things are very nice in the area. A downside is that there definitely are people and places that give off a pretentious air. I personally do not fall in that financial bracket (or close to it) but that has effected me very little socially. I feel very lucky to live in this area.
