Missouri is known for its unpredictable and rapidly changing weather: literally always carry shorts, a coat, and rain boots at all times, because you could wear each in one day. Have clothes for the extremes of all seasons, because you WILL experience all of them. Good amount of snow/ice in the winter (expect one or two power outages), lots of rain/thunderstorms in the spring (expect a few tornado warnings), heat waves in the summer (mild droughts on occasion), and an autumn that fluctuates between winter and summer.

This is a relatively small town near a big city, so everything is within driving distance. The people are community oriented, as was demonstrated recently after a flood. People come together when there is need. I am glad I grew up here, and while I would like to travel, this is home.
I love the close proximity to everything I need. I love the local choices in resturants. We could use a couple nicer resturants but, we can always drive a little further if we want. We have shopping, dining, community colleges and within a short drive 4 year colleges.
