I grew up in this town on the Navajo reservation. To me, this is home and always will be.

I would like to see improvement of roads, main routes, alternative routes, residential routes, so this may help the community get from place to place. This area currently get the four seasons each year and make roads a bit of a challenge as most routes are off main routes, dirt roads.

With improvement of roads, this will boost regular commute travel, help improve local real estate, and with emergency transportation.

There are much more challenges that need to be met but improving most all roads would be a great help and effort toward improving the living environment and systems within the areas.

The community members are the biggest attraction to this community. They are caring people. There are many local events put on by local businesses and the tribal government. The local monuments and museums are amazing. What could use improvement is local parks and playgrounds, weekend library services and sidewalks and lights along roads. Rentals and housing is an issue.
Window Rock was a small community, but during my teen years the town has grown a lot from local business that provide the community with job and made the community easy to shop for food and supplies that need for home but their is an fea market that the people can get cloths but choose to travel to Gallup,NM and their is schooling for students and child care and made home for those in need.but the town really has grown to shopping center's and food place to eat. and finally has their own motel and have one other. but Window Rock has its tourist of the rock in the hole and to picture of the Navajo code talker...great place to explore the Navajo people.
