Williamstown is ok but not great. Moved here a year ago due to cheaper rent rates. Healthcare is not that great, water quality is poor, WiFi is horrible (not enough Cable/internet options). The food is awful, all chains no good quality restaurants. The grocery stores are a nightmare (mostly frozen food rather then fresh). I drive 30-40 minutes to Kroger in Athens, OH for better food. Parkersburg is a dump and Marietta is so-so. Most things require a drive to Columbus (2 hours). Things are out of the way here. You have to have a car or you’re stranded.
Williamstown is safe and very friendly. The community really cares about the high school when it comes to sports, music, etc. I would recommend moving here if you have a family.
Williamstown is a very close community. Our town is very supportive of our athletics. Every Friday night, majority of the town would be at the football a game. This town is a very safe environment and is a great place to raise kids. One thing I dislike about this town is that everyone knows your person business. Unlike bigger towns/cities, people might not even notice you, but in this town everyone knows everyone. There is no keeping things private.
