At first, when I moved to Wichita, I was very skeptical because it was a new place I'd never been but, I was open to anything so I jumped head first! I stationed here and have been here for the past five years and I've grown to love the area. There's no other city like it. It's a big city with a small-town feel. The schooling here is really good (college-wise). I've only attended Butler Community College so far but I know Wichita State University is a highly rated school even though it is pretty expensive. If you're a "foodie", you would love it here. There are so many little restaurants from so many ethnic backgrounds, it's just amazing. Anything from small cafe's, to food trucks (my favorite), to expensive french restaurants and little Hawaiian places with the BEST Kahlua pork and cabbage you've ever tasted.
Wichita is a great place to grow up in. There is lots of art for the young and older crowds. Wichita is filled with magnificent talent in the fashion, music, makeup, art industry. It is a great place to raise a family. The school system USD 259 could be more into the children's education like the surrounding cities, but the family life is great. The cost of living is affordable and honestly if you can't make it in Wichita it would be hard to make it in other places. Wichita is truly up on the rise with jobs, careers and technical schools that will help in the continuous expansion of the city. Wichita is being spoke of and being listed in magazines as one of the best up and coming cities! Watch out Wichita is on the move!
I absolutely love Wichita, Kansas. The people could not be any nicer. What I love about Wichita is the fact that there are so many areas to explore. I realized this when I was having my senior pictures being taken. Wichita is a hidden gem. Many people see Kansas as "The Wizard of Oz" state or just a bunch of farmer kids. This isn't true if you look at Wichita! Downtown is so amazing! Not only is the the area lovely, but I enjoy living in a place that can be big and small all in one. Not many places in America can be what Wichita is!
