I often am sad to see changes when I return home on a break, however I have come to realize that Whitinsville, my old home, despite its changes, is where my childhood happened and those memories that will never change. Whitinsville has rich history bursting from its seams. A few to highlight are the Whitin Mill, the Victorian Mansion, the Whitinsville Library and Whitinsville Christian School. The town is the epitome of a small town with a church on each st corner, and the library, community center, bank and town hall all within sight from the town center. Many of its residents consist of "townies", people who were born and raised in the community.
If you are interested in history and want a place where everything is within walking distance, I would highly recommend Whitinsville, Massachusetts. Although it is not especially well-known, it is a town that should not be overlooked on a map.
I love Whitinsville because it is a quaint and quiet little town. The downtown area is so small and desirable; you can find a cute park with walking paths that connect through the downtown area and town, beautiful churches, and a lovely little library. There you may also find quite a few small businesses that house everything from art, art classes, handbags, clothes, all the way to karate and dance studios. Right outside the little downtown area lies an amazing community center with activities and classes for every age and interest. There's a lovely little elementary school just down the block from where I live that opens the playground after school hours for anyone in the area to enjoy with their children. This town became my home almost three years ago now and I still love it just as much as the day I moved here.
