One of the top employers of the area is the Reading Hospital. I know several people who are employed there and the over all attitude is that it is just a place of work, but not one that they generally enjoy going to. There is a very stark difference between the lower and upper class. I have found that people generally have money, or they don't with a thin in-between layer.
In Pennsylvania you are able to get a great taste of every season. You can have ninety degree weather in summer and subzero degree weather winter. There are really no major hazards to worry about and most of the year is full of moderate weather, depending on the season.
