Whitesburg, Ky is small town nestled deep in the heart of the Appalachian mountains. This town has very friendly people and good places to eat. Southern hospitality still exists here. However this small town in the bible belt is as expected filled with religious fanatics and extremely nosy people. There is also a general lack of stimulation surrounding this small haven, one can only explore so many mountains.

Whitesburg is small enough to feel like a big family but not to small. It is generally a safe place but there will always be those people who change that. I have lived here my whole life and I still wouldn't want to move away from it. It's not like a busy city in Tennesse it's like home.
This is the town I went to school in. There are so many friendly faces. My favorite place here, during the summer/fall months is the Letcher County Farmers Market. I love the fresh produce, friendly faces, and fellowship.
The city no longer has the clothing stores and other places of business it had while I was growing up. Still it is an interesting place to visit and enjoy the opportunities to view local art and meet the artists.
