I went to in this area for seven years as a child. I think it's very nice. It's quiet, friendly, and has a lot of deer. Forget all the negative reviews of this place. I have very fond memories here.

White Oak is a diverse suburb in Maryland near the D.C. border. It is relatively convenient for a D.C. commute and is close to the sights and sounds of downtown Silver Spring. The White Oak area itself could stand to have a few more standard shops and grocery stores. The recent reopening of the White Oak library helped the environment to improve. White Oak is better for settled families than for single people.
It's a really nice area with substantial potential. You can comfortably raise children here, A lot of areas nearby, Public transportation is right outside, but since New hampshire avenue and route 29 cross in the neighborhood, traffic can get a little hectic.
