One of the number one things I like about Wheeling, IL is the fact that it’s a very quiet and safe town. Nothing much goes on that would turn people away, it’s very active community that helps those in need. I’ve been living in Wheeling for most of my life’s and have enjoyed all of my time spent here. However, one thing which I would like to see in Wheeling is a more commercialized area like a mall or something of the like. Though it isn’t being worked on currently in downtown which will make the town even better socially and economically!

I lived in Wheeling my entire life. It’s rather quiet except during the holidays, such as 4th of July, as many people celebrate with fireworks. Unlike the city, not everything is within reasonable walking distance. The grocery stores, restaurants, retail stories, etc. are rather far from each other if you don’t have a vehicle. But having lived in Wheeling my entire life, this place will always have a place in my heart. The people here are quiet and relatively nice. Once you get to know them, they will show kindness and care. Overall, Wheeling is a nice place to live in.
Wheeling has great people working as firefighters, police officers, and health sources. I don’t feel threatened or have fear when I walk around my street. In fact I feel more protected. Before, Wheeling had a reputation of it not being a good safe place to reside in. Because of the many drug and gang violence that was occurring and uprising. The police has tried their best to continue to help and create a safe atmosphere. Which has worked since then. Living here for 14 years and currently. Has been a quiet and calm city so far.
