Very unfriendly. I've had people not just ignore me, but scowl when I smile or wave at them. The town is crumbling. I'm not even willing to give it points for being close to Sharon and Farrell because Sharon and Farrell already crumbled. The air and soil are polluted by the nearby factories and mills. Everyone you talk to has some odd health problem or disorder. There's nothing at all to do here. We literally don't even have a mailman. The council members love to get in your business and try to fine you for things like your grass being an inch above normal. My neighbor was ill for a period of time and instead of doing what a real community might do and pitching in to mow for her (which would have taken 10 minutes her yard is so small) they sent her a notice they were going to fine her. They love to fine people for things because there's not enough money and tax revenue so they have to make things up. If you're into dumpy, rude and nosy places, by all means, move here.
We are a small close knit community. There are many perks of living in a small community such as knowing all your neighbors, having the mayor live next door and even having opportunities to be a part of the city council. The borough of Wheatland is a clean and beautiful area that sits right below the bigger cities of Farrell and Sharon. With Farrell Area School district being the school of Wheatland, there are also other choices such as West Middlesex and Sharpsville that have open tuition.
I have lived in this area for ten years now. It’s beautiful and not just that but president by bucannon is from the area as well. Not many changes have been made in this area but new pipelines. Would love to see an upgrade for recreational purposes for the kids to play sports as well as an extended playground.
