If you like outdoor activities, this is the place for you! Rivers and lakes for kayaking, boating, fishing, etc. There are a lot of parks nearby with walking and biking trails. Tired of doing outdoor activities, then visit the Wind Creek Casino located in Wetumpka. Thirty minute drive from the state capital of Montgomery! Wetumpka is a great place for families with children as well. There are always events going on that cater to youth of the area.
I would recommend they add more sidewalks, in town, as well as safe road crossing areas for pedestrians.

I grew up here in Wetumpka, AL, and it's a friendly community where everyone makes you feel welcome. The local historic sights Fort Tolouse and the Alabama State Capitol make you feel connected to the past. The beautiful Jasmine Hill Gardens are captivating and takes you into Greece locally! If outdoor adventures is what you love, then fishing on our local lakes, rivers, and exploring our state parks will definitely satisfy you!
Wetumpka is very quiet and peaceful. I enjoy living here because I never have to worry about anything crazy happening. I have some very friendly neighbors that watch out for my house when we are away. Everyone is respectful of your property. Love the fact that Walmart is 24 hours. On my way from work at 6 am I able to grocery shop and get things done for the next day. Wetumpka is not too big but also not too small. The police presence is well known in wetumpka. I've had plenty people say oh I'm not coming to your house because the police is always out. I love the fact that everyone knows their presence makes the difference. I'm three minutes away from the Jordan Dam so whenever I want to get a peace of mind I can. I love the fact the park is right in front of the river. Very calming and relaxing sight to see. Skate 2000 gives the kids plenty to do with the lazer tag, game room, and skating. Wetumpka is overall a great city to live it. I love it!
