Westwego is a small quiet city on the West Bank of New Orleans, LA. It is family friendly with plenty to do such as festivals, fairs, flea markets local concerts with great Jazz music. I would encourage others to visit just for the great food. We are known for our delicious seafood poboy's, gumbo, and various other Cajun dishes. Not only is it a great place to visit, it is a great place to live. Great schools and community's in Westwego, LA. Parks that are wonderful for local foot ball and basket ball game recreation. Arts and crafts shows are wonderful events for the family to attend. Mardi Gras is the icing on the cake, the beautiful floats and great bands from all over the United States make this an extraordinary place to live.
The environment in Westwego is very quiet and everyone gets along with each other. The community is overly protective by Westwego Police. They keep the community safe, but at times they will pull a person over for no reason. For example, pulling a person over because they didn't sit at the stop sign long enough, but overall the city is lovely!
Westwego is a small city on the outskirts of New Orleans on the other side of the Mississippi River. Most of the west bank is for the lower income citizens of the city but it was not the worst thing. The neighborhood I stayed in was quiet and has a close-knit community. Everyone knows everyone. It is in a spot that puts you close to everything on the east bank without living on the east bank which is more expensive. I find that Westwego is in the perfect spot with the perfect living. Not too much but not too little.
