The schools are excellent! Staples High School is a great school and colleges know that! This is the reason I moved here and it was worth it. The beach is very pretty, although after 13 years I’m not as excited by it! There is a mix of people... some nice and some spoiled/arrogant, so find your people. The town is safe, people leave their doors unlocked (although I never would). Main Street is fun and the restaurants are pretty good. Overall, I moved here for the kids and it was worth it. Now that I’m getting older, I’m ready to live in a place that’s warm all year!

The public schools are amazing here! These schools are the main reason why a lot of young families move here. The taxes are very high, however, so if property is too expensive here, taxes won't make it better.
Westport is special . It combines the sophistication of a close-in NYC suburb with the laid-back vibe of a beach/water community.

While this is most evident when the weather this nice, the relatively laid-back (for NYC area) nature of the town is enhanced by strong community pillars -- the school system, the Y, the town amenities, the local arts.
