The public schools are amazing here! These schools are the main reason why a lot of young families move here. The taxes are very high, however, so if property is too expensive here, taxes won't make it better.

Westport is special . It combines the sophistication of a close-in NYC suburb with the laid-back vibe of a beach/water community.

While this is most evident when the weather this nice, the relatively laid-back (for NYC area) nature of the town is enhanced by strong community pillars -- the school system, the Y, the town amenities, the local arts.
Great library. Great schools. Wonderful outdoor opportunities with the beach, the state park, Aspetuck trust. Very walkable downtown. Strong community arts and theatre scene. Clean and safe.
