Weston is family oriented, diverse, health conscious, has great schools and is well manicured. There are family events in town center and most parks. There are annual events such as the "Halloween Spooktacular", "Lighting of the Tree", "Chanukah", and events for Latin American culture. People can network, volunteer and sports teams to interact with fellow citizens.Weston welcomes people from a variety of backgrounds. Residents have the opportunity to learn English or other languages at the library or one of the middle schools. Weston has a walking and bike trail throughout the city. School children are encouraged to participate in the Mayors Run/Walk challenge as a team for their school. Majority of Weston schools have the reputation of being an "A" school. Weston is filled with well cut trees, shrubs and grass which creates an environmental ambiance. There are rows of different plants with brightly colored flowers along side the rode. I am so proud to call Weston my home town!

Weston is a very family friendly, safe place to live. It is the perfect place for children to attend great public/private schools and make friends. It is close to many nice places with many things to do (Fort Lauderdale, Miami, etc.), however, Weston itself is quite small and does not have too much night life in it. There are hospitals and emergency rooms close to everything, and police responds and takes action automatically, always giving that feeling of being secure. The streets and neighborhood are clean and beautifully maintained. Overall, although it is not very affordable, Weston can be a great place for families to live if possible!
Gas and grocery money adds up, since it's so far from anywhere. Younger people complain about a lack of excitement. People at a age and income bracket where cheese boards are exciting are a good match for Weston. Neighbors don't often talk to each other- racial minorities, especially, might have to brace for a cold shoulder. Let your children know they can talk about hurtful things other children say though. I sure wish mine did. Anticipate the need to find social groups outside of your immediate neighborhood, is what I'm saying. The schools are good. The ESE and digital learning services, especially, are top-notch for Florida. But if they're outgoing (in a lot of clubs, always going places with lots of friends), keep an eye on your kids once they get to Cypress Bay High, because 1. The school is very large, and admin can't/won't track down drug issues and 2. CBHS is extremely competitive, and kids who like to push themselves will push themselves straight into burn-out.
