Your average Chicago-Area suburb. There's nothing exciting about Westmont, but it's comfortable and safe. I've lived here all my life and never really had a problem with this town, besides not having a movie theater close by.
But we recently got a Raisin Canes on 63rd street, so that's awesome! There's a great Chinese restaurant called Golden Bowl, a Mariano's and now they're opening up an L.A. Fitness which is awesome. The best ice cream you'll ever have will be from a quaint little ice cream shop called Tasty Treat, it's classic and all-around amazing.

Westmont is a beautiful, affordable place to live. The highlight definitely has to be the parks, which are numerous &, at least where I live, in walking distance for a pretty broad range of houses. (There are three parks near me!) It's really close to Oakbrook Mall, which is nice, and it's not too far from the city, either. Everything you NEED is here, but Westmont doesn't have a super broad range of entertainment and things like that - which is fine, because there's a lot of stuff around Westmont. The diversity isn't bad (it IS a suburb of Chicago, after all), but it's definitely one of the less diverse suburbs around here. I've never experienced any discrimination, though.
I have lived in Westmont for over 15 years and have never had a terrible experience. I love living near TY Warner Park because I have created so many memories at this park over the years. One of my favorite memories is every winter season when it heavily snows, the kids slide down the giant hill at Ty Warner Park. I used to do that as well as my sister and come winter 2020, I will be doing it again. Westmont has always been my home and I can't see my myself living anywhere else.
